New Mexico Disability Services, Advocacy, and Support
Every New Mexican deserves access, respect, and full participation in community life.
We advance civil and human rights, expand access to services, and strengthen inclusion for New Mexicans with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and their families—across every region of the state.
We serve communities throughout New Mexico, including the ancestral lands of the Navajo Nation, the Pueblo Nations, and the Apache Tribes. Our work honors these lands and the people who live here today.
If you are navigating services, planning for the future, or advocating for systemic change, we are here to support you.
Supporting New Mexicans Across the State
We serve New Mexicans with intellectual and developmental disabilities, their families, self-advocates, and community partners statewide.
Our work reflects one clear principle:
New Mexicans with intellectual and developmental disabilities have the same civil and human rights as everyone else—and those rights must be protected, respected, and enforced.
We support:
- Adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Families seeking guidance, services, and long-term planning
- Self-advocates shaping policy and community priorities
- Allies committed to inclusion, access, and equity across New Mexico
In neighborhoods, schools, workplaces, civic spaces, and faith communities, inclusion strengthens everyone.

Disability Rights & Self Advocacy in New Mexico
The Arc of New Mexico is part of a nationwide movement for disability rights and inclusion, while remaining deeply rooted in our local communities. For decades, The Arc network has worked to advance the rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
In New Mexico, that means:
- Advocating for inclusion and full participation in the community
- Supporting community-based living instead of institutions
- Promoting supportive decision-making and alternatives to guardianship
- Ensuring people with disabilities are part of every conversation that affects them
We don’t just serve people with disabilities—we work every day to protect their rights and expand what’s possible.
