Southern New Mexico Office

Since 1999 promoting positive outcomes in southern Dona Ana County for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities in education, employment and healthy lifestyles.

WE BELIEVE that individuals with developmental disabilities have capabilities, potential, promise, and are able to contribute to their communities

WE BELIEVE that individuals with developmental disabilities should have the freedom to make their own choices, be a part of everyday life, and have the opportunity to lead meaningful lives driven by their interests, likes, and desires

WE BELIEVE that all people with disabilities have value and should be treated with respect

The Arc’s southern New Mexico office is a community agency that provides advocacy, information, training, resource and referral for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. Our bi-lingual bulletin and calendar are mailed out to individuals. Please let us know if you would like to be included in our mail outs. You can become our friend on Facebook: Arc New Mexico (Anthony)

How we do it:

Improving quality of Life:
Members and parents from The Arc’s southern New Mexico office are actively involved with activities offered in the surrounding communities. These activities are not organized through the agency, but are part of our equal opportunity and choice mission.

Creating Awareness:
Persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities have many gifts and talents to share. Presentations are made at the local and statewide level several times a year. This is a great way to socialize and participate.

Leadership Monthly Meetings:
Once a month our southern office staff meets with local families from the outlying communities. Group discussions center on upcoming events, activities, needed trainings and the distribution of information related to public awareness and public policy. Through this process trainings are identified and scheduled. Trainings are provided as identified by the group. Everyone is welcome!
